What to Expect in an Energy-based Healing Session.

Alright, let’s strip this back and straight talk.

You’re spinning plates. Life, work, family, expectations, the endless mental tabs open in your head. You’ve tried doing all the right things, therapy, books, journaling, breathing apps, positive thinking till you’re blue in the face. And yet… you still feel fried, disconnected, and not quite yourself.

You don’t need another thing to “fix” you.

You need a reset.

This is where my energy-based reset sessions come in (if you want the 'woo' version, think of reiki and crystals). No fluff. No chanting. No pretending life is all love and light. Just a calm, powerful way to help your nervous system stand down and your body remember how to feel safe again.

Let me walk you through what actually happens, and why it works.

What Actually Happens in a Session (No Guessing Required)

When you arrive, the first thing you’ll notice is the exhale.

Quiet. Warm. Safe. No rushing. No performing. No pressure to talk if you don’t want to.

We start with a short, real conversation, not therapy-style digging, not awkward small talk.

Just tuning into:

  • what’s going on in your life

  • where you feel stuck, drained, or overloaded

  • what you want more (or less) of right now

This helps me tailor the session so your body gets what it needs, not a generic one-size-fits-all treatment.

You’ll then lie down fully clothed on the couch or table. I work gently with my hands placed on or just above the body, supporting your energy system and nervous system to downshift out of survival mode.

No force. No fixing. Just creating the conditions for your system to recalibrate.

And yes, this is where chakras come in, but in a practical way. Think of them as stress and communication hubs, not mystical labels.

How This Work Actually Works (Science Meets Common Sense)

Let’s deal with the elephant in the room: “Energy work sounds a bit woo.”

Fair, but your nervous system doesn’t care what you believe.

These sessions work because they help your body shift from fight-or-flight into rest-and-repair. That’s not spiritual jargon, that’s physiology.

When your system settles:

  • stress hormones reduce

  • breathing deepens

  • muscles soften

  • emotional processing becomes easier

  • clarity improves

This is why people often say things like:

“I feel lighter.”

“My head’s quieter.”

“I didn’t realise how tense I was until now.”

It’s not magic. It’s your body finally being allowed to stand down.

What You Might Feel (And What’s Totally Normal)

Every session is different, because you are different every time.

You might experience:

  • warmth or coolness in parts of the body

  • tingling or gentle pulsing

  • a deep, heavy relaxation

  • drifting in and out of sleep

  • emotions bubbling up (yes, tears happen, no drama required)

  • sudden insights or mental clarity

Or… you might just feel calm. And that’s plenty.

Afterwards, some people feel energised and focused. Others feel a bit tender or tired. Both are signs your system is processing and rebalancing.

If you’re used to powering through and ignoring your body, this work can feel unfamiliar. That doesn’t mean it’s wrong. It means it’s doing something new.

How to Get Real Results (Because This Isn’t a One-Off Fix)

Here’s the truth bomb:

This work isn’t passive.

It’s powerful, but it works best when you meet it halfway.

To get the most from your session:

  • Set a clear intention. Before your session, think about what you want to shift or heal. It could be stress, anxiety, physical pain, or just a desire to reconnect with yourself. Share this with your practitioner.

  • Stay open but grounded. You don’t have to believe in energy healing to benefit from it. Approach it with curiosity and a willingness to experience whatever comes up.

  • Hydrate and rest. After your session, drink plenty of water and give yourself time to rest. Your body is processing a lot.

  • Notice what shifts over the next few days. Write down any thoughts, feelings, or insights that arise. This helps you track your progress and deepen your self-awareness.

  • Reflect or journal if that’s your thing.

  • Consider consistency. Healing is a journey, not a one-off event. Consider scheduling regular sessions or combining energy work with other practices like mindfulness, therapy, or movement.

Why This Might Be the Reset You’ve Been Looking For

If you’re stuck in overthinking, overwhelm, emotional burnout, or constant tension, this work gives you space to feel again without drowning.

It helps you:

  • regulate instead of react

  • reconnect with your body

  • soften old stress patterns

  • rebuild emotional resilience

  • stop living on empty

This isn’t about escaping life.

It’s about having the capacity to actually live it.

Healing is messy. Non-linear. Sometimes uncomfortable. But it’s also grounding, empowering, and deeply human.

Ready to Take the Next Step?

You don’t need fixing.

You need support, safety, and space to reset.

If you’re curious, amazing.

If you’re sceptical, also good.

You don’t have to believe in anything except your own experience.

I’ll hold the space.

Your body will do the work.

And I absolutely have your back. But you still have to show up.

When you’re ready, that reset button is waiting.
